Canyon Creative Strategist: Ann Sprague, Vice President
Ann brings over 30 years of business, advertising, brand development, marketing, writing, and creative experience to Canyon Creative. Her primary responsibilities include creative and concept development, strategy, copywriting, and project management.
Prior to forming Canyon with Dale Sprague in 1996, and after many years working in the publishing and advertising worlds, Ann was a successful full-time freelance writer, editor, and book producer. Sprague wrote Disney’s Gardening with Mickey for the adult market, and personally captured many of its beautiful photographs. She also wrote Picture Me at Walt Disney World and Picture Me at Disneyland for young children. She wrote many articles for the official Disneyana magazine, as well as edited it for several years, and has written Disney books, catalogs, brochures, and worked on other retail merchandise, advertising, and marketing projects.
Ann has played a key role in major projects during Canyon’s 20+-year history. She has been involved in the creative development of several themed entertainment attractions, providing extensive creative input for scriptwriting, video direction, photo shoot supervision, character and merchandise development. A great deal of her time is spent writing for clients. Ann has been instrumental in the creative development and writing for many of the websites we develop; and has managed hundreds of branding, advertising and marketing projects.
She has been the Editor and Production Manager for over 50 book projects ranging from children’s books to highly technical medical-legal textbooks. For more than six years, she worked for Harcourt Brace Jovanovich Publishers as the International Advertising and Book Production Manager and was the Managing Editor for a medical-legal publisher for nearly three years.
Ann has a Journalism degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and minored in Advertising, Television and Publishing. She is a member and former Communications Committee Chair of the Themed Entertainment Association; was the Literary Co-Chair of the 2016 Vegas Valley Book Festival, the largest literary event in Nevada; is the Chairman of the Board and Marketing Committee Director for a non-profit Arts in Medicine organization; and sits on the board of Nevada Children’s Medical Center Foundation.
Ann is an avid hobby photographer, adventurous in the kitchen and enjoys traveling and exploring new places.
